Fran’s Freebies: Adding Cats

This fun set of 36 self-checking cards will help young children master addition facts to 12.

The front of the card shows an illustrated addition problem with friendly cat faces for counters, and 3 choices of sums with a dot below each. If you have punched holes in the card, the child can stick the tip of his or her finger into the hole under the correct answer, and flip the card over to check. If you prefer not to punch holes, the child can simply pinch the black dot under the correct answer and flip the card to check.

When the child flips the card, the correct answer will have a star over it, and the incorrect answers will have x’s. This is made possible by printing the specially-designed answer graphics page back-to-back with the card pages in this packet. If you print on cardstock and laminate or cover with clear contact paper, these cards can last through several school years. Enjoy!
