Fran’s Freebies: Multiplication Puzzles

These 6 humorous math puzzles each have a printable segmented board to be used as a puzzle foundation – each of its 12 spaces features a multiplication problem ranging from 2 x 2 to 12 x 12.  Each foundation board is accompanied by a funny picture that is outlined in the same color and is designed to be cut into 12 pieces.  Each picture puzzle piece has a number on it that is the answer to one of the 12 multiplication problems on the matching board.  Simply cut out around the board, cut the puzzle into its pieces, mix these up, and give it all to your multiplication students.  As they read the number on each piece and lay it on the space that has the corresponding multiplication problem, the picture puzzle grows along with their skill!

These printable puzzles are each a little smaller than a 1/2 sheet of regular notebook paper.  They can each be stored in a ziplock baggie or card-size envelope – one board and all its loose pieces in each bag – and used as a math center for independent practice, or as a fun little activity that parents or teachers can use for additional practice at home, in the classroom, or even on the go.  For durability, I recommend printing on card stock and/or laminating or covering with clear contact paper.

If you have downloaded and used these multiplication puzzles, please leave some feedback below – thanks!

Hi, This is a BIG THANK YOU!!! The puzzles are fantastic. I am a 30 year teacher of grades 5-8 and the kids love them. They are great to use when I send students to the “chill chair”! They get to calm down and practice their facts. CREATE SOME MORE :)!!!
