Fran’s Freebies: Opposites Walk

Choose one of these 36 colorful cards.

When you read the word in bold print at the top of the card, your students start walking slowly across the room, thinking of — but not saying out loud — the word’s opposite.

You read one word at a time out loud, and students ignore all but the one that is the opposite of the original word given. For all other words, they keep walking very slowly forward.

As soon as students hear the opposite word, they turn around and start walking the opposite direction. Who will turn around first?
